Almost half through the Pacific West Conference the Argonauts are kicking their way to the top, sitting at 4-1, while winning their last four in a row. The Argos defeated Dominican University and Holy Names University in their last two matches.
Now the Argos are on the road to Utah to face Dixie State University on Thursday, Oct. 16, then off to Azusa Pacific University in Southern California on Saturday, Oct. 18.
“Dixie will be tough, they’re fast physical and athletic, and they always play well at home,” said Director of Soccer B.J. Noble. “Azusa is also a very good team that’s balanced all the way through,” Noble said.
These two upcoming games can have a huge impact on the conference standings, according Noble.
“Our attacking style has been good, but we need to tighten up defensively and limit our mistakes,” Noble said.
One new challenge for the Argos may be the grass field at Dixie State. To some this may seem like a big deal, but not to coach Noble.
“The grass field is really nice, so I don’t think it’ll be a factor,” Noble said.
