The Notre Dame de Namur University men’s basketball team suffered a tough loss at home, against Dominican University in the Walter Gleason Center on February 10.
During the first half of the game the Argonauts fought head-to-head with the Penguins. Senior Zach Ginter shifted the momentum of the game in the Argos favor, scoring a pair of three pointers. However, the Penguins held their own and jumped ahead in points going into half time.
Coming back from half time, Dominican kept their lead, running up a 14 point run. Sophomore Jalen Young answered for the Argos scoring seven points in a row.
“I knew we were down and I felt like I had to give our team a boost to help us back,” Young said.
Despite Young’s efforts the clock ran down with the Penguins leading by 10. Dominican came out on top, defeating the Argos 63-49.
“It was tough loosing this home game because we only have one more left. Hopefully, we pull things together and win on senior night,” Young said.
The Argos next home game is senior night against Fresno Pacific on Saturday, Feb.14 at 3:00 p.m. The senior night will recognize Don Washington and Zach Ginter.
